Having a party are you? Do you know you can have it environmentally friendly? You can! This will keep the party from being toxic to the planet like traditional parties are. You can buy supplies which are eco-friendly to throw your party with.

There are even ways to buy these supplies that are more eco-friendly than others. Choose the method of buying them that consumes the least amount of gasoline this will in turn burn the least amount of fossil fuels. This could be either online or at a local store. Do not drive to the next city if you can get the same thing in town or online in other words.

Invitations

Start at making the invitations green by either using recycled paper to send them on, or by emailing the guest to invite them. Both of these ways are great ways to have eco-friendly invitations. If it is a neighborhood party you can take a walk and hand-deliver the invitations to save money on postage. This puts a nice personal touch on inviting people too.

Candles

If your party decor is going to include candles then you need to choose the naturally made kind. Beeswax or soy wax makes great candles for burning. They burn much cleaner than the paraffin wax does. This means less carbon footprint left from the candles.

Goodie Bags

If you are giving the guests goodie bags then make these bags eco-friendly too. You can either reuse newspapers or recycled paper to make the bags from. The goodies can be things you either made by like craft items using recycled materials or some bake goods using all organic ingredients.

Dishes and Tablecloths

Use regular dishes at your party instead of traditional paper plates. It takes less energy to wash the dishes than to make the paper plates. Tablecloths if used should be of cotton or linen instead of plastic.

Toys and Games

If you are throwing a kids’ party you need to make the toys and games they are playing green too. You can make sock or hand-knit dolls, toys made from natural materials and even balls from socks. Games can be made from recycled paper, boxes or even bottle caps. See where we are going with this. This is a great way to teach your kids about recycling.

Location

Have the party in a location which will point to the importance of doing eco-friendly living. A nature preserve, national park or other outdoors setting. This way you can enjoy the outdoors while remembering why to recycle.

Living green can include all areas of your life. You can even celebrate at parties in a green way as you can see from the above information. With just a little bit of planning you can have your party without harming the environment. If you are throwing your kids a party it is a valuable teaching moment on how to live green. So plan a green party today and enjoy while not harming this world we live in.
