Everyone likes to take a hot shower all year round, it does not even matter if it is over 100 degrees outside, and we still love our hot water!  So when you buy a new or older house, you want to make sure you look at your water heater and find out how old your water heater is.  Most water heaters that are built within older homes lose their insulation over time, which means that your water will not get very hot.  When this happens you should look into purchasing a water heater blanket for your water heater!

Water heater blankets are a great thing to have when you realize your water heater is not holding on to your hot water like you need it to.  Buying a water heater blanket will also save you money from having to go out and buy a brand new water heater! Not only will it save you money on a new water heater, but water heater blankets can also save you money on your water bill every year considering you will not be using as much energy or water once you get a new water heater blanket!

There are a few things that you need to take into consideration before you actually purchase your hot water heater blanket.  First off, you need to figure out if your water heater can actually handle having a hot water heater blanket installed.  Some of the older models of water heaters will specifically tell you within your instruction manual, whether or not to use a hot water heater blanket or not.  If you use one despite the fact, you could overheat your wiring and burn out the water heater itself which will then mean that you will have to go out and buy a completely new water heater!

Once you actually purchase your hot water heater blanket, make sure that you read over all of the instructions first before actually proceeding with the installation.  You want to be safe when it comes to installing and you want to make sure that you do not burn out any of your wiring or fuses!

If you are looking to save money on your hot water bill, then looking into a hot water heater blanket is definitely going to work for you!  And, if you want to save as much as you can then look for the little things that you can purchase that will lower you water bill.  Low flower showerheads work great to save money, and they still do what you need to do in the way of getting all washed up!  Many people rave about hot water heater blankets and what they do in the way of increasing the temperature of their water as well as lowering the price of their annual water bill by about 9%, it may not be much, but these days every little bit counts, and if you need a good way to get decent hot water and spend less money, look to a hot water heater blanket!

I definitely can’t take a bath without hot shower although I take a one minute cold shower before ending my bath, for some health reasons as I have read on books and blogs.

Thanks for sharing this tip. Who wouldn’t want to maintain a hot shower and saving at the same time.
