More and more people are going vegan or vegetarian.  If you are cooking a holiday meal this year and you know someone will be attending who is vegan or vegetarian, you might be feeling a little bit worried about what you are going to make for them.  Here are some no-hassle ideas for you that are sure to please:

Let’s start off with the vegetarians, who may not be eat but for the most part can eat certain animal products as long as there is no meat involved.  If everyone is eating turkey this year, then take a look into the faux turkeys!  Everyone might scoff that the idea of a veggie turkey, but they are actually out there and they are actually quite delicious.  Try the Tofurkey roast, and enjoy it with all of the usual trimmings such as mashed potatoes, veggie gravy, and stuffing!

For the vegans in the family, look into purchasing some sort of celebration roast.  This is a vegan dish that is made out of grain “meat.”  These roasts are also made with a sausage-style stuffing that is made with squash, apples and mushrooms, and excellent choice for anyone who might be feeling a bit left out this year.  You can find these meals at any organic foods market, and they are not that expensive, costing about the same as what you would pay for your usual holiday treats!  These dishes are easy to prepare, and anyone in the family can enjoy them whether they are vegan or vegetarian, or just your simple meat eater!

If you are looking for the perfect type of vegan or vegetarian dish for that special someone in the family or for yourself, then check out your local organic market.  From there, you can find an array of dishes that will dazzle your taste buds!  Being environmentally friendly is important and when it comes to saving the animals out in the world that is equally important.  Take the time to stop at the store, and look into vegan and vegetarian dishes, you will be surprised at how inexpensive they are and how good they taste!  If you are worried about how to prepare any of these meals, look online for general information about how to prepare and cook your actual meal.  This way, your holiday festivities will go off without a hitch, and you and your family are bound to have a wonderful Christmas, run on down to the store and get your vegan and vegetarian Christmas meals!

This is a great article. As a vegan myself I know what a difficult time Christmas can be for both families feeling uncomfortable about catering for vegan/vegetarians because they are just unaware and not confident in their cooking of these foods. And its also a tricky time for vegans, seeing all the meats and dairy products loaded onto the dining table enough to feed a small town. So getting the word out about vegan options for meals and “mock” meats is great. Lets get some practice in of cooking sustainable and enviro conscious foods before christmas day

This is a good article. It is true that during Christmas season, you expect to see lots of hams, roasted turkeys and stuff on your dinner table. So having a vegetarian-vegan meal can somewhat be a good idea. You’ll surely have a deliciously healthy meal served on your table this time. =)

This kind of article is really being a ray of hope for me and my entire family as being a vegetarian living in the south east country like Nepal!
