One of the most common conditions that people complain about are fungal infections.  This occurs when parasitic fungal organisms start to colonize on your skin causing a number of negative and unwanted effects.  The more common spots where fungal infections occur on the body is the areas of the groin and the feet since they are both warm and moist areas of your skin.  If the fungal infection is assaulting you for the first time it may be gotten rid of quite easily with normal over the counter drugs that you can pick up at a local drug store.  There is an assortment of different creams you can try along with tea tree oil, which has very good results when used.  It has a low price and requires only a small amount of effort.

A common fungal infection that almost everyone has heard of or been afflicted with is athletes foot.  It is a very common fungal infection to attract if you visit any sauna’s, steam rooms or if you participate in yoga.  This infection is very common among men of all ages, barely effects woman and it even more rare with children.  Therefore, if you are going to be visiting any public pool, sauna or gym, it is always a wise idea to wear flip flops and dry off regularly and thoroughly.  Another step that you may wish to try if you want to avoid catching this nasty infection is to soak your feet in plain white vinegar once every week as a preventative means.

There are many ways to treat an infection such as this, but it will all depend on the manner and type of fungal infection you have contracted.  When the fungal infection first starts to make itself noticeable will be when the toes become somewhat soggy and a grayish white in color.  You will then notice peeling and splits that begin to open up on your feet and or groin that can be very irritating, itchy and sometimes painful.  If the fungal infection is already in full swing, so to speak, wearing shoes that will make your feet hot and sweat more will only add to how aggravating the problem is.

To fight against this fungal infection there are herbal mineral powders mainly comprised of indigo powder, rhubarb root and other tough anti-fungal to be applied directly to the infected area.  This treatment works very well on healing infected skin that has been eroded away by the fungus.  Along with this herbal treatment, it is still highly recommended that you soak your feet weekly in white vinegar for a time to be extra cautious.

If your fungal infection continues on for many years your feet can become very dry, flaky, irritated, fissured, tender and even blistered in some cases.  This condition can be worse during periods of very humid weather and even more so in people that have to stand for long hours at their job.
